Onelife Story

I never imagined the twists and turns my life would take. In my early twenties, I found myself a mother of three young children, juggling nappies and bedtime stories while dreaming of a brighter future. It wasn’t easy, but I had a fire inside me—a determination to build a life that would not only provide for my family but also fulfil my growing ambitions.

When my youngest child started school, I took a bold step: I enrolled in college as a mature student. Balancing my studies with the demands of motherhood was no small feat, but I knew it was a necessary sacrifice. I earned my degree and soon found myself working in accounts and operations at a thriving software company. For years, I poured myself into my work, grateful for the stability it provided, yet I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

It wasn’t until my early 40s that a new opportunity presented itself. The company needed someone to set up a human resources department, and I jumped at the chance. To ensure I was fully equipped for the role, I went back to college to complete my CIPD training in Human Resources. As I delved into the world of HR, I discovered a passion I hadn’t known existed. The systems and processes fascinated me, but it was the people—their recruitment, engagement, retention, and performance—that truly captured my heart.

My career was flourishing, but I was always looking for ways to grow. After completing a management course, a colleague suggested I consider training as a coach. Curious and eager to expand my skillset, I took the advice to heart. As I began my coaching training, I felt an immediate connection. Coaching didn’t feel like work; it felt like a calling.

However, as I neared the end of my coaching qualification, I found myself at a crossroads. I loved my HR role, but coaching had ignited a new passion within me. Unsure of which path to take, I sought out a career coach myself. That decision proved to be transformational.
In those sessions, I experienced firsthand the power of coaching. The conversations about my possibilities and transferable skills opened my eyes to new horizons. I walked away not only with a stellar CV but also with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear vision for my future. I was hooked.

With my newfound clarity, I made the bold decision to step away from my HR career and fully embrace coaching. I founded OneLife Coaching, determined to help others experience the same transformation I had. Every day since, I’ve poured my heart into my coaching practice, guiding others as they navigate their own crossroads. For me, coaching is more than a job; it’s a journey that never feels like work, only pure fulfilment.

I’ve never looked back, and neither have the countless clients whose lives have been transformed.

I now live a life I absolutley love and wish that for everyone of my clients

1
Why would I need career development coaching?
There are numerous reasons why someone will seek career coaching. Most popular is to kick start a career transition or to get some really practical interview preparation from an experienced coach.

Many come to a career coach to find their career direction, accelerate their career path, gain support through change, navigate a promotion opportunity, strategically explore options, develop confidence, enhance their communication style or develop their leadership and interpersonal skills.
The list goes on…
2
What can I expect from a free discovery call?
Our coaches will have a 15 - 30 minute obligation free discovery call with the client or manager before any coaching programme.
This call allows the coach to actively listen and understand the coaching need and propose a bespoke coaching programme to meet those needs. The coach will set expectations and will ensure the client knows exactly the cost and what will be involved within each coaching programme. We will only proceed with an engagement if it makes sense and we believe we can be of service.

How can I get the best results from working with a Coach?
Firstly, ensure this is the right time for you to take on coaching, and ensure you are in the right frame of mind and open to change. (A call with one of our coaches can assist you with that).

Secondly, the more effort you put into the process, the better the results. Give yourself the best chance by ensuring your coaching sessions are completed when you are energised, alert, and ready for action.
Build in some time after each session to reflect and make notes.
Complete the exercises assigned by your coach in a timely manner as this leads to the very best outcomes.
Trust me, they know what there are doing…Complete any reading assigned to you by your coach.

Finally, follow the plan you and your coach have designed, these plans have many years of success, expertise and experience behind their design.
